For those of you looking for me on the web, I was born Laurie Conrad, grew up in Northampton, Massachusetts, and went to Wesleyan University. I now live in central New Jersey. Not the New Jersey of the Turnpike and its polluting smokestacks, but a kinder, gentler and more rural New Jersey.

After I graduated from college with a degree in English my father said I should take computer classes. He always had good advice, so I did, and have made my living with computers ever since. I currently work at Princeton University where I write applications for molecular biologists.

I am married to a multi-talented man, Phillip, an otoneurologist, woodworker, local politician and rabble-rouser and a former B-52 pilot. We have two beagles ("the boys") and live on five acres of land so they can have room to run. "Anything for the dogs" is our motto. I created the popular web site Beagles on the Web almost 10 years ago. While I don't have much involvement with it anymore, I do post a photo each weekday of the boys and have been doing so for almost eight years, before I even knew it was a blog.

My favorite activities involve water. I am lucky to be able to swim at the fabulous DeNunzio pool at Princeton where I endeavor to swim like I'm thirty years younger. This rarely occurs, but trying is what really counts. And through the miracle of Youtube, you can watch me swim. Eight years ago Phillip and I took up scuba diving and now our vacations are centered around it. I take still photos underwater and Phillip shoots video.
